The Data Protection Officer (DPO)

Responsibilities

  • Follow up on the implementation of the provisions of the rules/law and regulations.
  • Apply data protection policies.
  • Update or amend existing data protection policies, procedures, guidelines.
  • Apply necessary measures to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Monitor data protection procedures in place.
  • Receive requests related to personal data in accordance with the rules/law and regulations.
  • Act as the point of contact with related authorities.
  • Supervise the impact evaluation procedures, review and audit reports related to personal data protection controls, document the evaluation results, and issue the necessary recommendations.
  • Enable the personal data subject to exercise his/her rights stipulated in the system.
  • Notify the competent authority regarding incidents of personal data leakage.
  • Respond to requests submitted by the owner of personal data and responding to the competent authority regarding complaints submitted in accordance with the provisions of the rules/law and regulations.
  • Follow up on recording and updating records of personal data processing activities at the controller.

Qualifications

  • B.S. in relevant field.
  • Information Technology background is a plus.
  • Previous experience in data protection position.
  • Understanding of PDPL, GDPR, and familiar with regulations issued by the NDMO.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English and Arabic.
  • Excellent communications skills.
  • Meticulous detail oriented.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment under rapid business and digital transition.
